Q: What Am I Working On?

A: Great Question! I am currently turning my books into audiobooks. I love having this opportunity to self publish and am enjoying the learning process. I currently have 6 completed audiobooks and am focusing on completing the others for my old favorite books.

I have a new book that will be released December 15, 2019 called "Evolution of Dr. Whitney Gillespie"

I am also working on a play that will be based off my book "From Pain to Purpose" that will take place at VCU Grace Street Theater December 7, 2019. 

I am working on creating an initiative to give back in memory of my late child, Angel Gillespie wngdap.webs.com. I just finished Angel's Legacy Walk 2k19.

I am currently teaching 6th/7th/8th Grade Low Incidence Special Education in a local school system (Middle School).

 I am a Chancellor of my own bible institute called Angel's Legacy Institute For Religious Studies alifrs.webs.com

Q: Why self publish?

A: I wanted to write what made sense to me and what I was familiar with. I do being me very well and felt people would relate to my stories and overall message. I didn't want any company telling me what to write and the frequency. Maybe in the future, I will consider a publishing company. For now, I am loving my DIY and own pace at writing. 

Q: Why are your books so short?

A: Just like a good one night stand, I want to give it to you and keep it moving. LOL! Seriously, I feel that it doesn't take long to get my message across. After a while, it becomes repetitive and sounds like a college paper you are trying to meet the word requirement for. I believe in getting in and getting out  while leaving the audience hopefully a little better than you found them!

Q: What made you start writing?

A: I miscarried my first child back in 2015. I was 2 days away from my 27th birthday. Instead of grieving, I immediately had to have a $80,000 surgery to remove 5 fibroid tumors and large cyst. It was later speculated that the tumors and cyst caused Angel's death. I had to find a way to release all of the emotions I was feeling. I picked up a pen and started writing. I transferred it to my computer and the rest is history.

Q: What is the overall goal?

A: My goal is simple! I want to continue to write, travel and be the best version of Dr. Whitney Gillespie that I can be.
